bioMusic goes Live

Performance during a corporate party.

> bioMusic-06

The initial note generator Max/MSP patch has been integrated into a Max For Live device (right part):

The background remains the same: generating sound based on amino acid material extracted out of some protein data-sheets.
Embedded with a M4L tempo tutorial (left part), the bioUnit is triggered by Live's tempo with fine controls on the clock cycle.
Compared to a Max patche: M4L devices seat within Live system schema: I/O routing, instant mapping, LiveAPI...

At the venue, two bioUnits are used to produce generative melodies in addition to some granulation and beats.
There are some low frequency in kicks, way below 50Hz.

Visuals should definitively come at next release, feel free to contact me if interested.

senses09: the science is dancing

The first "bioMusic" exhibition ever!

Amino acids, primarily sequence, is analyzed through Max/MSP which triggers sounds in Ableton Live.
Biological images are processed in PureData for visuals generation.

The overall result offers an immersive audiovisual environment directly based upon genetics materials.
An opportunity to deliver toward a public audience a new interpretation of biological analyses.
